What “work permit notification” actually means
The letter that unlocks your Z visa — and what it does not guarantee.
The work permit notification (often called the notification letter) is an employer-led approval that typically lets you apply for a Z visa. It is not the work permit card itself, and it is not a residence permit.
What it unlocks
- Embassy / consulate Z-visa application (with your passport and other docs)
- A clearer timeline conversation with HR about post-entry steps
What it does not unlock
- Unlimited stay after entry
- Automatic residence permit
- Permission to start working on a tourist or other non-work status
Practical tip
Ask HR for the expected validity window of the notification and whether any details (job title, salary band, employer name) must match your contract exactly. Mismatches cause avoidable delays.
